Education Code 40081 (c)

states; All courses of study and training activities required by this article shall be approved by the department and given by, or in the presence of, an instructor in possession of a valid school pupil activity bus (SPAB),  transit bus, schoolbus, or farm labor vehicle driver instructor certificate of the appropriate class.

NOTE: All bus drivers must be referred by a California state certified driver instructor.

Not a state instructor; input "0021"

This is a statewide shared classroom training program.

We handle everything:

  • We schedule & post classes

  • We set up the classroom

  • We monitor the classroom

  • We coordinate instructors

  • We give the instruction*

  • We schedule qualified speakers

  • We provide attendance sheets for documentation

  • You, provide instructor presence

*State instructors will log into a virtual classroom at a scheduled time to offer classroom presence while a qualified individual gives the instruction.


Verification of the following credentials; Instructor's ID card, Commercial Driver License, California Special Driver Certificate (DL-45) and a copy of most recent Training Certificate T-01, is required for all state certified instructors prior to offering presence.
